Buying alcohol
Alcohol policy
How we sell and deliver alcohol on the Isle of Man, and what we need from you. Last updated 21 October 2026.
You must be 18 or over
We only sell alcohol to people aged 18 or over. You confirm your age at checkout before you can order. It’s an offence to buy alcohol for someone under 18, so please don’t order it for them.
Where it comes from
Alcohol on Ebag.im is bought from licensed shops on the island. Prices are the shop’s shelf price on the day, as with everything else we deliver.
ID at the door
Our drivers follow Challenge 25, and in fact check ID on every order that has alcohol, tobacco or energy drinks in it, whatever your age. We accept:
- a passport
- a photo driving licence
- an approved digital ID: Yoti, Post Office EasyID or Lloyds Smart ID
We note that ID was checked. We never copy, photograph or keep your ID.
Who we hand it to
- Alcohol is only handed to the person named on the order, at the delivery address on the order.
- We can’t leave it in a safe place, in a porch or shed, or with a neighbour.
- We won’t hand it to anyone under 18, and we may refuse if the person seems drunk.
- We can’t change the address or the person it’s for on the doorstep.
If we can’t hand it over
If nobody named on the order is in, or ID can’t be shown, the driver brings the alcohol back and you’re refunded for it. The rest of your shopping is delivered as normal.
When we deliver
Alcohol is only delivered in our daytime and evening slots, never between midnight and 6am. Checkout won’t let you choose a slot in those hours for an order with alcohol.
The records we keep
For every alcohol order we keep a record of the products, quantities and prices, the name and address it was delivered to, when it was delivered and whether ID was checked. These records are kept with our order records for six years. See our privacy notice.
